Why You Should Be Here

My photography is more than just storytelling; it's art that belongs on your walls, blending artistic value with personal significance. I believe everyone deserves to feel like that cool painting on the wall. I try to infuse emotion into my visions, creating them into artistic portraits of YOU.

Bring along a Pinterest board! I may share some inspo photos too, to better understand your style.

My job is all about fun, so let's keep it lighthearted. Expect plenty of laughter and lots of candid shots. Reading this information provided will help you know what to expect before, during, and after the shoot, ensuring everything goes smoothly and comfortably. Remember, the goal is to keep things simple and enjoyable!

What makes for the best pictures possible?

Lighting! Colors! Location!

These three things are key to capturing pretty pictures.

Lighting (time of day), what you wear (colors), and location are crucial!

For in-home sessions, whether it's a nursery newborn shoot or a cozy lifestyle session, good lighting is essential. If your home doesn’t have great natural light, I highly recommend renting a studio- I have recommendations!

Why is lighting so important? Good lighting results in clean, crisp images. Poor lighting can create harsh shadows, cause squinting, overexposed pictures, or photos that are too dark.

Why does what I wear matter?

While your outfit doesn’t dictate the success of the photos, it can enhance them. With my editing style, I recommend wearing colors that complement your skin tone, hair, and the backdrop. Once we book your desired location, we can discuss which colors will make your photos look their best. I typically recommend neutral/solid colors… CREAM IS MY FAVORITE. Brown is a close second ;)

Location and lighting are interconnected.

For example, shooting in a bright, open field can be challenging if there's nothing to soften the light. However, the right time of day can make any location work.

Timing for the best lighting:

  • Full sunny day: Aim for the golden hour, which is the hour before sunset.

  • Cloudy day (overcast): Anytime works, as the clouds diffuse the light beautifully.

By paying attention to these details, we can make sure your photos turn out just the way we want them too!
